Race Report: DIF Danish National Championship 2019
NHR Racing Team have like the rest of the other teams been working hard to prepare for the biggest race of the year, the DSK-DIF Danish National Championship in the KZ2 class. However, for NHR Racing Team the event would be overshadowed by mechanical problems and we would end the all-important championship finale before it even started.

Saturday – Practice:
No friday practice meant most of the practice sessions where moved to Saturday. After a promising start for our driver Nicklas Rasmussen the pace and power output from the engine would start to go away with no obvious explanation. The team where also hindered by a water pump failure that cut short one of the sessions.

Saturday – Qualifying:
Qualifying was extremely problematic for Nicklas. On his hot lap he was blocked by another competitor who where not paying attention to his surroundings and he encountered traffic on his following laps. The engine problems where also still getting worse and Nicklas would only 23rd out of 25 drivers in the KZ2 class.

Saturday – Heat Race 1:
In the first and only heat of the day Nicklas would be involved in an accident during the start where he had to avoid slow starting drivers in front of him, but would as a consequence have an out of control driver smash directly over the front end of his kart. The kart was severely damaged and Nicklas right leg had suffered and injury from the collision. However, Nicklas would drag the damaged kart to the finish and finish in 21st place.
After the race Nicklas would have to have his leg checked by the medical team, and despite the injury being quite painful, Nicklas was cleared to race the following day.

Sunday – Heat Race 2:
The team’s luck would go from bad to worse on Sunday starting with the second heat race. Nicklas would suffer a problem with the clutch on the starting grid, causing a stall that would require him to push start the kart of the line after the green flag had dropped, as such the race was just about getting to the finish and so he did, but only in a distant 19th place.

Sunday – Pre Finale:
The result of the pre-finale would set the grid for the all-important championship deciding finale. Nicklas, stating form 20th place would get off to a good start and would make up some positions early in the race. However, the engine problems that the team had endured would now hit another level and the pace would drop off massively. Nicklas would have nothing to do but accept that he would not be able to do anything about it and just try and get to the end once again. Nicklas finished in 19th place and would start the finale from that position.

Sunday – Finale:
Before the finale the problem with the engine was finally diagnosed, however there where not enough time to get it fixed before the finale. A desperate attempt to get some pace in the finale the team would replace the engine with one of the previous spec engines that the team had as a backup. Nicklas would start the finale form 19th place but before the race had even begun, trouble hit once again. On the second formation lap, a water leak appeared from the top of the engine. The problem meant that Nicklas would not even make the start of the race and it would result in a DNS in the finale of the 2019 DIF Danish National Championship.

Nicklas Rasmussen - KZ2 Race Driver:
This race has got to be one of the most difficult and problematic races I’ve ever had. It is very difficult to deal with this result right now, but I also know that we were just plain unlucky and that sometimes you get all the bad luck at oncethis time was one of them. With that being said, I am very grateful for the hard work that the whole team has put into this event, and I am also deeply thankful for all the support that we have got from GP-Racing Denmark. There is not much else to do now then take this a learning experience and put it behind us now. As I’ve always said, there is no rewind button, and hopefully we can take the fight to the next race and get a better result.

Race Preview: DIF Danish National Championship 2019
This is biggest race of the year on the Danish racing calendar will happen this weekend, the DIF Danish National Karting Championship. This year the race will take place at Roskilde Racing Center, which is located in the middle of Zealand and within 10 kilometers of the Roskilde city center. NHR Racing Team will be competing with our driver Nicklas Rasmussen in the KZ2 class. Unlike the DSK Series where points towards the championship are awarded at every round, the winner of the DIF National Championship is the driver who wins the finale on Sunday.

Nicklas Rasmussen – KZ2 Race driver:
This is my favorite part of the season, it’s the end of summer and the season is building towards its absolute highlight. We have had a challenging season so far, but for everyone this race is a big reset. This is the type of race where there are no “points racing” to beat your rivals, but instead everything is on the line in the finale since that is the only thing that will decide the championship order. For us we will look to try and improve throughout the weekend and have some solid heat races to put us in a good position for the all-important finale on Sunday. And when it is time for the finale, anything can happen and all we can do is to go out and give it everything we have to get the best result possible!

Follow the action all weekend
The race can be watched live on www.zibrasport.dk and more information about the 2019 DIF Danish National Championship can be found on wwww.dansksuperkart.dk

Race Report: Pinseløbet” 2019
NHR Racing Team competed in the KZ2 class in the revived non championship race “Pinseløbet” at the newly constructed international karting track in Rødby. For the team we were on the backfoot with very limited pre-season testing, but despite this we enjoyed a solid event despite an unfortunate ending.

Friday Practice Day:
The team managed to get out on the track late in the day to break in our race engine and doing some runs to check if everything worked as it should. Despite relatively limited running and no previous experience on this particular track for our driver Nicklas Rasmussen we enjoyed some productive running.

Saturday- Qualification heat 1 and 2:
In qualifying Nicklas got a solid lap in despite his very limited running, and the was enough for us to qualify P9 out of 12 drivers, and not too far off the pace of the drivers right ahead of him. In the first qualification heat Nicklas would stay out of the first lap chaos and make it up into 7th place. In the second qualification heat Nicklas would suffer an early setback, but improve during the heat, until he was hit by another competitor on the final lap and would have to settle for 9th place.

Sunday - Pre-Finale:
The results of the qualification heats would have Nicklas starting the Pre-Finale from P7. Nicklas had an uneventful race where the pace was not as strong as he had hoped Nicklas finished the race in 9th place. However, the team got some valuable knowledge on the handling of the kart, that could be applied for the finale.

Sunday - Finale:
Nicklas had to start the race form 9th on the grid. Since the team have treated this race much like a test day it was now time to try and put what we had learned to gain perforce for the race. To start of the race the team had taken a risk with the setup and a few laps into the race the changes started to work very well and the performance from the kart was very good. Nicklas enjoyed a strong race until he ran over a kerb and be very unfortunate snice that damaged the front end of the kart he would have to retire from the race due to the damage.

Nicklas Rasmussen - KZ2 Race driver:
It was a disappointing end to the weekend. We worked very hard during the entire weekend to tune in the kart and we tried out a lot of things to learn as much as possible, to make up for the extremely limited pre-season running we have had this year. We progressively improved the handling of the kart, and for the finale we took a big risk with the setup that worked out very well for us. In the finale I was pushing very hard and very lightly hit a kerb but that was enough to just go slightly off the track damage the front end of the kart. It was completely my mistake and I am sorry for the team that we had to end the weekend like that after such hard work. However, there is some good positives to take with us form this event and we are going to build on that for the next race.

Race Preview: “Pinseløbet” 2019
For the first time since 2015 the traditional event “pinseløbet” will be held at the karting venue near the town of Rødby. This is also the first time that the event will be held at the newly constructed international karting track that has been built to replace the old demolished track.

Nicklas Rasmussen – KZ2 Race driver:
I can’t wait to finally get racing again after almost 9 months. We have had an extremely late start to our season this year with only a shakedown test last month, so we must treat the race more like a test day. With that being said, I am very great full for the effort that the team and GP Karting Denmark has put into getting us racing again after a challenging off season and while our overall goal for this weekend is to gather as much knowledge and track time as we can, it is still a race and I will do what I can to get a solid result.

2019 season plan announced!
NHR Racing Team is proud to announce that we will be competing in 2019. Like last year we will be taking part in the KZ2 Shifter kart class. We will be racing with "GP Karts" powered by "TM" engines.

We will once again be taking part in the biggest Danish kart race of the year - the DIF Danish National Championship.

Due to budget limitations we will only be competing part time in the DSK Series at selected events. However this has the posibility of being changed if we can get the necessary funding for a full DSK season.

We also intend to compete in "DM Revanchen" This race is a stand alone event, and we will be competing if the KZ2 class is being raced at the event.
